She's a trooper!

The doctor came today to give Murphy her four month vaccinations. She had an oral dose for polio which she took really well. She's been given medicine for her reflux for months now so she's really good at taking medicine. Then she had a shot. The doctor told us it would hurt. She had been sleeping so we woke her up and I held her. Rob held her leg as the doctor injected it. She screamed while it was going in but then quit and stared at the doctor. She didn't seem too bad afterwards. She played around when it came time to taking a nap but once she was tired enough she went right down. Rob went to the store to buy more Motrin and get money to pay our motel tab. When he got back she had just woken up. She was a little fussy then. She had a fever and was just whiny. We were able to give her more Motrin at 6:30 and she's cooled down and calmed down. You can always tell when she's wound up because her feet just go to town. They're calming down so I think a nap is in the works. We think she hit a growth spurt because she's been drinking more at a time lately. She doesn't look it but she's filling out. She's more solid. We're also converting her to American formula and tomorrow is her bump day. She's drinking three ounces of Colombian and three ounces of American. Tomorrrow she'll go to four American. We really haven't noticed any problems when we've bumped her up. We've done it once a week since we've been here. We figured it would be just as easy to do it now while we're with her all day than have to do it when we get back and our lives return to the normal chaos.

Since we had the appointment today we stayed in all day. Of course by the time we would have gotten moving this morning it would have been noon. So we didn't even make an attempt. It's almost 7:30 now so we'll go down and eat. Tomorrow we are going with Cecelia and two other LSS families to Cecelia's country club two hours south of Bogota. It will be a nice change. There is a pool but we aren't sure what else. She's going to be here at 8:30 though so we will have a busy morning.

That's all for now. We're still hoping to get to a school before Rob leaves next week. I heard the gold museum is closed and I'm just not sure I want to go to the Salt Cathedral. Something about going inside a mine freaks me out. And Rob's the claustorphobic one!

Just one picture today. We exercise with Murphy every day. I really think it's helping because she rolled over again today from back to front. She has a little bit of an attitude and she gets mad when she can't get over.

Yeah, those shots hurt us more than they hurt them. Usually one big scream and then they're over it.

I would recommend going to the salt cathedral. It isn't claustraphobic down there - it's kind of damp and cool and the ceilings are really high - I would go. Plus the city of Zipaquera is a cool place...it felt very "colombian" there.

I'm so excited you are seeing everything. We have friends there now and they are miserable. I would tell you to meet them but I wouldn't want to bring you down.

Those darn shots! Why do you think she is running a temp? Maybe teeth? Did the doctor say anything about the temp? Have a wonderful day tomorrow and remember to take the Motrin along.
Love to all of you.

Low grade fevers are pretty common with shots -- not to worry. Myah had a small reaction to her chicken pox shot -- I'm sure at the time I thought it was a HUGE reaction, but 9 years later, I can't remember, so it must not have been too bad.
I went to a salt mine in Austria and it was awesome -- you might want to consider going -- the one I visited wasn't closed in at all -- we had to put special clothes over ours and wear a leather pad on our butts because we took slides to get down into the mine -- wooden slides -- it was really fun! Then we rode a train back up. -- it wasn't a train train, you just straddled it and held on to the person in front of you.
I know....blah, blah, blah.
Take care! I am so happy for you guys! Keep having fun and enjoying that little sweetie!

I wonder if Murphy thinks her daddy is a "giant". LOL She always looks so tiny next to him or his hands. Instead of the "my daddy is cool" shirts, I think I need to get her a shirt that says "be careful my daddy is a giant". She is going to love those great big bear hugs just as much as I do.

Can't wait to see how it is when she starts dating. Hopefully he doesn't scare them all away like he did with me. :)

Anyway, I better get back to work. Counting the days down until I get to hold you all in my arms again!!

Love you lots!
